Ialyssos

Where it is
It is situated at 8 km [ 4.9 miles ] from Rhodes town on the northwestern side of the island. The area takes its name from the ancient city-state of Ialyssos dating back to 5^th century bc.

Monuments | History
As a result Ialyssos is an interesting site of archeological interest. Visitors can visit the village of Trianta where relics from the Minoan era are found as well as Mycenaean cemeteries have been detected in the surrounding hills. The ancient town of Ialyssos is among the three most important and big ancient towns on the island. It is located on Filerimos hill where monuments of the ancient, Byzantine and Medieval era are featured.
